Well, the birthday presents this week just kept coming. However, this one brought tears of joy to this dad. My daughter, Caitlin and her boyfriend, Blaine, took a filler song I had written for a 2005 project and they re-recorded it for my birthday. More after the video –
The best I can recall (way back in the dinosaur age of 2005), I wanted one more original song for “The River” CD project we did at Chestnut Mountain. So I quickly wrote this simple melody and lyrics. It was a simple acoustic version that I did. My wife, Annette sang beautiful harmonies on it.
But, there is nothing like your own child resurrecting one of your songs that, quite literally, was never played live onstage more than a couple of times.
Based on the biblical passage of John 14:1, I hope it is an encouragement to you.
